1 Kings 8:49

“…then from Heaven, your dwelling place, hear their prayer

and their plea, and uphold their cause…”

Asking in the Name of Jesus pt 4

We left off yesterday studying from the Book of Acts in Acts 3:1-8. This is where Peter and John were going into the Temple. There, at the gate, they met a man who was begging for alms. He had been crippled from birth. Peter stopped and told the man to “look on us.”

He wanted to make eye contact. The devil can see Jesus in you. Your eyes are a door way into your Spirit. You’ve heard the expression before of people that seen murderers, etc. and they almost always comment on the evil in the eyes. That is because the eyes allow you to see into the spirit, the soul of man.

Here, Peter wanted the man to see into HIS eyes. And, more importantly, he wanted the demon that was possessing the man to SEE JESUS in Peter! Amen!

The man looked upon them, expecting to receive some monetary gift. But what he got could never be purchased with money. Let’s read this story together. Acts 3:1-8

One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.

Peter exercised his authority IN THE NAME OF JESUS. He demanded the cripple man be loosed, and to get up and walk. Remember, Jesus said in John 14:13 that “whatsoever you ask (or DEMAND) in my Name, that will I (Jesus) do!”

Notice Peter did not pray that God would heal him. He did not beg God to heal him. He did not go into a long diatribe of prayer to prove he had faith. No. He prayed, “IN THE NAME OF JESUS, GET UP AND WALK!”

This account in Acts 3 is exactly what Jesus was talking about in John 14:13-14. Jesus was not talking about prayer!  He was talking about DEMANDING that Satan would loose whatever he was holding onto and that circumstances would immediately change – in JESUS NAME. He is talking about BELIEVERS speaking forth the command of Faith in the mighty Name of Jesus – and demons and circumstances responding.

Bob Thibodeau

Pastor Robert Thibodeau has been in online ministry since starting his own podcast in mid-2009. Within about six months, he was offered a slot on nationwide Christian AM radio. His broadcast was heard in four major markets for one year.

He then started what today is called, "Evangelism Radio" and went live 24/7 beginning on October 4, 2010 and continues to this day. Now with over 50 broadcasters submitting programming on a weekly basis, Evangelism Radio has listeners in over 160 nations and all 50 states. It was also ranked by Shoutcast.com as #1 in the world in the Christian Talk genre on many occasions.

In late 2017, Pastor Bob began an interview style podcast called "The Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast." On this podcast, Pastor Bob interviews Christians from various walks of life on how they use their Faith to achieve success. Authors, recording artists, business CEO's, non-profit leaders and pastors and ministers frequent the show and provide amazing insight to build your faith. In only 3 years time, The KCR Podcast has published almost 900 episodes and Pastor Bob conducted over 700 interviews!

In early 2018, in response to the lack of any Christian themed podcast hosting platform in the market place, Pastor Bob coordinated with the iconic Mark Asquith and his team, with the result being "FaithCasters.net." A "Christian podcast hosting and marketing company created by Christians for Christians."

Due to the immense success Pastor Bob has achieved in the online ministry world, he is often asked by others "How to start a podcast." Not wanting to refer Christian brothers and sisters back into the world for help in establishing a Christian themed podcast, he started to develop the "Podcast-Training" platform offered through our ministry. He conducts training on a weekly basis to assist others in the development of their own personal podcast as well as ministry related podcasts that can air on Evangelism Radio.

Now, he has placed all of this information under one website location, "Podcasters for Christ." This makes it easier for other Christians to find the services they need in one spot rather than having to visit several different websites.
